YEOVIL is now the proud owner of its very own souvenir in the form of a tea towel – for the first time in history.
Five hundred tea towels are now Terry Tea Towel available from Yeovil Tourist Information Centre and Yeovil Town House on Union Street following hundreds of requests from visitors who complained that they could only find Somerset keepsakes, but no souvenirs from Yeovil on Printing Tea Towel its own.
The requests were taken up by Table Placemat South Somerset District Council and Yeovil Town Council, who pooled their resources and commissioned a bespoke tea towel showing illustrations of local landmarks.
The towel includes illustrations of a helicopter, gloves, an apple tree, Yeovil Town House, Sidney Gardens and the Jack the Treacle Eater folly in Barwick.
Tea towels are now on sale for £3.90 ready for the Christmas season with all costs covered by the retail price.
