I've been to my fair share of flea markets -- and then some -- and I have to say the Alameda Flea, formally known as Antiques Kitchen Linen By the Bay is one of my favorites.
I took the opportunity to browse through the vast wonderland of cornucopia yesterday with my friends in tow and thoroughly Tea Towel enjoyed the outing in the sun.
Something about being situated there at the edge of the bay overlooking San Francisco's lovely skyline always puts me in a great mood. I always come Napkin and Placemat home with at least one love-it-to-death item, if not more. Over the years, I've scored a woolen Pendleton blanket, a stained glass window that I hung over the piano, many French linen kitchen towels, a set of four Danish dining room chairs, vases and drinking glasses, books and jewelry, belts and purses, Pyrex dishes, and so on.
Even after walking past aisle after aisle for hours, I'm always sure I'm going to score just the right thing in the next row. Just one more...
Here are some of my favorite pieces from yesterday's venture.
